Spreading the seeds of Tree

The Samara seed has become a significant symbol that represents the knowledge, wisdom, lessons, and philosophies that have emerged from the Tree Street Youth community. As Samara seeds mature, they eventually release from the tree symbolically “flying” off until they land and begin to grow. This symbolism represents the many ways Tree Street’s community continues to have influence beyond the walls of the center while working towards a world where we can all fear less, love more, and dream big.

Co-Creation

Tree Street’s unique approach to partnership is grounded in our philosophy of co-creation. Co-Creation is accomplished through intentional leadership cultivation and building design teams grounded in equity. Youth inspired Co-Creation ensures the voices of those most proximate to the issues are centered in designing solutions and responses to some of our community’s and societies most complex challenges.

Cultivation

Cultivation is an intentional team learning experience where we challenge ourselves to explore our individual and collective identities, responses, visions, and power. By creating space to share our own lived experiences, we build connection and trust across lines of difference while learning from one another’s unique and shared wisdom and discovering our purpose.
