Unique Design.
Diversion Team is a co-creative partnership with Maine’s Department of Corrections. By working collaboratively with youth, their families, and systems leaders, we address DMC (disproportionate minority contact) and create unique supports, programming, services, and opportunities to divert and prevent youth, in particular youth of color, from going deeper in the justice system.

Collaborating Across Systems
The Community Diversion team is made up of a Tree Street staff member, 1 JCCO (Juvenile Community Corrections Officer), the Credible Messengers and DMC Coordinator in collaboration with DHHS, case managers, local law enforcement and systems leaders, and other community members.
